Elder Care Groups

at St John's Church Highfield
For over 65s who may be living alone or have limited opportunity to get out and about, Elder Care Groups provide companionship, fun, advice and support. Hosted by the Anglican parishes of St Mary's Timaru, St Johns Highfield and Marchwiel the Timaru Group meets at St John's Church. It is run in partnership with the Anglican Elder Care Project and the Group offers a varied programme of activities, afternoon tea and transport all at a minimal cost per guest. On occasion, we organise outings and excursions too.

Cost: $3.00 per session (includes afternoon tea)

Our volunteers greatly enjoy their experience at the Groups too. If you have an hour or two weekly or fortnightly to spend with our guests or help with transport, we would love to hear from you.
